The Civil-Military Coordination Service (CMCS) jointly with OCHA’s Regional Office for Asia and Pacific (ROAP) is pleased to invite you to the upcoming United Nations Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination (UN-CMCoord) training course. The residential training will be held from 1 to 6 April 2023 in Singapore. The Singapore Armed Forces are generously covering the training venue, board and accommodation for the course duration. We kindly ask your organization to take care of travel, any visa requirements, and applicable allowances.

CMCS, as part of OCHA’s Coordination Division, will lead the event. The training will bring together four interdependent emergency communities: a) OCHA and UN agencies; b) surge staff from Stand-by Partners, UNDAC and INSARAG; c) United Nations Member States, including domestic and international militaries and police forces; and d) non-governmental humanitarian organizations. We encourage the field and mid-level managers to apply.

The objective of the training course is to: a) define the concept of humanitarian civil-military coordination (UN-CMCoord), including the five sets of UN-CMCoord guidance, b) assess the UN-CMCoord environment in operational contexts, and c) play a key role in support of UN-CMCoord as it relates to humanitarian access and protection outcomes.
